What to do in an Emergency
In an emergency dial 000 and ask for fire, police or ambulance.
When the operator answers, please give them the following essential information:
- type of emergency
- your house number
- street name and nearest cross street
- suburb
- state
- Melways reference (if known)
Once outside a burning property, never go back inside - wait for the fire brigade at a safe meeting place.
National Relay Service - emergency TTY number 106
The National Relay Service provides telecommunication services for people who are deaf or have a speech or hearing impairment and use a TTY (also known as teletypewriter).
The emergency number to call from a TTY is 106 and is available toll free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
