Approximately 60 firefighters bought the blaze under control in just over two and a half hours.

The fire was contained to the top level of the two story building, and was severely damaged.

The remainder of the building including the ground floor which had approximately 12 vehicles in a showroom was damaged by heat, smoke and water.

Access into the top floor area was made very difficult due to the heavy smoke and concerns for the structural integrity of a rear wall. There was extensive use of breathing apparatus by the firefighters.

MFB Fire Investigation Unit will be attending to establish a cause.
