30 Apr 2012
MFB crews from Brunswick and Ascot Vale were quickly onscene for the fire at the two story brick unit block. The unit was well alight when the crews arrived and additional resources were quickly called on.

After an aggressive fire attack, the fire was contained to the unit of origin. The neighbours – some eleven in total- had started to evacuate as MFB arrived and all units were checked by crews to ensure they were safely out. Police are sourcing emergency alternative accommodation for the residents.

No persons were located in the unit affected. One female was treated on scene by AV due to some smoke inhalation. There is no cause yet been determined and the other units are being checked for fire spread. There will be a crew onscene overnight and an MFB Fire Investigator will attend in daylight.
