Ardeer factory fire deemed suspicious

02 Mar 2015
More than 50 firefighters have battled a fire at a factory in Ardeer this morning.

Crews were called to the two-storey office complex attached to the Reid Street factory just after 5am.

Passing motorists reported seeing lots of smoke billowing from the building.

A dividing wall between the factory and the office reduced the amount of damage to the building.

The alarm level was raised to provide extra pumpers and equipment due to water difficulties at the address.

The fire was deemed under control in an hour.

The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious and police will be investigating.
