MFB firefighters are currently in the process of rescuing a seagull caught by fishing line from a tree on The Esplanade, Altona.

The request for assistance came from a wildlife shelter that does not have the capability of reaching the 20 metre height of the tree.

Altona residents are watching with interest as the MFB are currently utilising our specialist Ladder Platform in an endeavour to salvage the injured animal into the care of the animal welfare group.
