Approximately 30 firefighters responded to Kings Park, following several triple zero calls at 6pm.

MFB crews arrived on scene at Balnarring Drive to find a garage fully engulfed in the blaze.

Crews quickly set up hose lines to attack the fire externally and prevent it spreading to the attached house and neighbouring properties.

One resident self-evacuated prior to MFB’s arrival and was treated for smoke inhalation by firefighters, before being handed into the care of paramedics.

The blaze was declared under control less than 20 minutes after MFB arrived on scene.

The fire is believed to have ignited in the rear of the garage due to sparks from a welder.

CFA, Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police are assisting on scene.
