A family home has been extensively damaged by fire with flames shooting through the roof.

MFB firefighters arrived on scene at the Booth Way property in Taylors Lakes within five minutes of receiving the fire call at 4.05pm on March 31.

They found the single storey, brick veneer home fully involved in fire.

The entire roof space was involved in fire, with flames penetrating the roof, resulting in partial roof collapse.

MFB firefighters took 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No-one was home at the time.

MFB specialist fire investigators have deemed the fire not suspicious and are still investigating the cause.

Eight appliances and approximately 35 firefighters attended the blaze.
