01 Jun 2019
The quick work of firefighters stopped a fire from taking hold of a home in Brooklyn this morning.

MFB were alerted to a garage fire on Corrigan Ave after receiving several Triple Zero (000) calls shortly after 10:15am.

Initial crews found the attached garage well alight with the fire spreading to the back of the house and a pergola.

More than a dozen firefighters in breathing apparatus were able to isolate the fire and bring it under control within six minutes. Crews will remain on scene to extinguish any remaining hot spots.

Fortunately, all occupants evacuated the property prior to MFB’s arrival.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

Ambulance Victoria is also in attendance.
