Firefighters have contained a blaze at an abandoned Carnegie property this evening.

Crews were called to the Dandenong Road property just after 4:30pm after black smoke was seen issuing from the roof of an abandoned building.
On arrival the crews found fire burning on the upper level of the two storey building and spreading into the roof space.
MFB crews were able to stop the spread of the fire into the ceiling of the 8m x 8m brick building.
While the building was believed to be unoccupied, crews conducted a search to ensure this was the case - no one was found.
The fire was declared Under Control after 30 minutes and the fire has been deemed suspicious and will be investigated by Victoria Police.
MFB Crews will remain on scene ensuring the fire is fully extinguished and then hand the site over to Victoria Police.
