Caulfield North house fire

MFB firefighters are currently on scene in Caulfield North where a fire broke out this morning.

Crews were called to the Bambra Road address just before 7am following reports of smoke and flames issuing from the brick residence.

Firefighters were initially concerned the elderly occupant might still be inside but luckily, the woman was quickly accounted for.

The fire was threatening a nearby home and flames were through the roof.

Firefighters managed to get the fire under control in 25 minutes and stop it from spreading to other properties.

MFB fire investigators will attend the scene to determine the cause of the incident.
