An electrical fault is believed to have sparked a fire in a two storey dwelling in Park Road Cheltenham.

Date: January 30, 2011
Time: 20:45 hours
Call Number 10194

Address: Park Road, Cheltenham.

The fire severely damaged two rooms on the upper level plus a large section of the roof.  Firefighters used tarps to protect the lower level from water damage and prevented the repair bill from being even higher.

Though the fire was brought under control in just 15 minutes, fire crews remained at the scene for almost 2 hours to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and there were no remaining hotspots.  All persons in the home when the fire started managed to escape safely and there were no reported injuries.

Aerial units: 1

Number of firefighters: 17
