Clothes dryer sparks fire at Pinnacle Hotel

Firefighters have attended a large fire in Fitzroy Nth this morning .

A clothes dryer has sparked a blaze at the Pinnacle Hotel in Fitzroy North this morning.
Crews were called to the hotel on St Georges Road at 9.30am.
Initial reports stated that the fire involved the rear yard and part of the structure.
Firefighters using Breathing Apparatus conducted an aggressive attack confining the damage to the property to the lower ground floor.
The premises was closed at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.
Crew are currently using an aerial appliance to remove roofing sheet to check for fire extension.
The incident was given under control at 10:01am
A possible cause at this stage is reported to be clothes dryer but Fire Investigators will attend the incident to confirm this.
Firefighters will be in attendance at the scene for most of today
A community warning was issued for the fire, due to smoke in the area and tram and road closes of St Georges Rd. Traffic congestion in the area will continue for the next two hours and the general public is advised to avoid the area.
Damage is estimated to be between $150,000 to 200,000
Electrical appliances should never be left running unattended.
