ADDRESS:  Nara Café – Sydney Road, Coburg.

Fire extensively damaged the kitchen of a café in Sydney Road Coburg this morning.  The fire at the Nara Café was noticed shortly before 5am with smoke seen coming from the roof.  The fire smoke-logged three adjoining properties requiring MFB crews to search all four premises to ensure the fire was fully contained.  Due to the prolonged search, it took firefighters 50 minutes before deeming the blaze as “under control”.

The damage bill has been estimated at $50,000 with the cause to be investigated later this morning.
