Coburg pizza shop damaged after fire

Firefighters battled a fire at a Coburg pizza shop overnight.

MFB crews were called to the Waterfield Street single story shop about 11.30pm after reports it was heavily smoked logged.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus contained fire damage to the rear and roof space of a pizza shop which was in a strip of four shops.

An adjoining shop sustained minor smoke damage The fire was deemed under control in 30 minutes with a damage bill of approximately $100,000.

MFB personnel will be remaining on scene until early morning, the cause of the fire is being investigated.
