Crews attend garage fire in Preston

Swift actions of fireys bring fire under control in ten minutes

Just after 10.30am this morning, MFB received multiple calls to a garage fire at Lyonsville Avenue, Preston.

Arriving on scene crews found a unit with an attached garage involved in fire.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus entered the premises with hose lines, containing the fire to the garage involved.

The swift actions of the crews brought the fire under control in ten minutes. 

Firefighters also checked for fire extension into the attached unit and a building surveyor has been requested to attend to check the integrity of the garage due to roof collapse.

MFB will be in attendance for the next couple of hours and fire investigators will now investigate the cause.

Six appliances and sixteen firefighters attended the blaze.
