Crews attend house fire in Keilor North

MFB was called to a single-storey brick home on Eliza St at 13:16pm this afternoon.

Firefighters in Breathing Apparatus entered the home and were able to contain the blaze to the bathroom with some fire extension into the adjacent roof space and bedroom.

The occupants weren’t home at the time.

The fire was deemed under control in 20 minutes and the cause has been determined as electrical.

Crews on scene were also alterted to an elderly neighbour who had collapsed next door.  

Firefighters administered Emergency Medical Response protocols before handing the man over to Ambulance Victoria who stabilised and transported him to hospital.

Victoria Police also assisted on scene.
