Crews battle Watsonia house fire

MFB firefighters have spent the early morning hours battling a house fire in Watsonia.

Crews were called to the Watsonia Road home just after 2.30am and arrived to find the weatherboard property in flames which were threatening a neighbouring home.

Firefighters acted quickly to protect nearby houses and managed to get the fire under control within 45 minutes.

Luckily, the house was undergoing renovations and no one was home at the time.

The cause of the incident will be investigated.
