Crews battle house fire in Carnegie

MFB firefighters have stopped a fire from spreading to neighbouring homes in Carnegie late Friday night.

 

Initial crews were responded to Mimosa Road at 11:25pm following several calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting smoke in the area.

Upon arrival firefighters were met with house that was fully involved and immediately requested additional resources.

Parts of the home had collapsed due to the severity of the fire and crews were unable enter the property.

Firefighters mounted strategic an external attack on the blaze using aerial appliances while protecting surrounding properties. Once it was deemed safe crews entered the home to fully extinguish the fire. 

More than 30 firefighters worked to bring the under control at 1:14am.

The scene has been handed over to Victoria Police for further investigation.
