Crews battle suspicious St Albans house fire

MFB firefighters were called to Furlong Road, St Albans just before 9pm this evening to find a single storey, brick veneer house fully involved in fire, with flames issuing through the windows and the roof.

Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus mounted an internal attack on the blaze and conducted a search of the property to confirm the dwelling was unoccupied.
Crews worked to bring the fire under control in 25 minutes. The house has unfortunately been severely damaged by fire.
Crews will remain on scene throughout the night to extinguish hot spots.
The fire has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police are on scene to investigate.
