Crews battle suspicious house fire in Reservoir

Police will investigate a suspicious house fire in Reservoir early this morning.

Initial calls received about 4.30am to a single storey brick veneer residence in Wilkinson Street indicated that explosions were heard prior to the fire being noticed.

Crews were immediately despatched and found the premises well alight on arrival.

A thorough search of the building was conducted by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and no persons were found to be in the building.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.  MFB Fire Investigation Unit attended the scene this morning and determined the fire as suspicious. Victoria Police will investigate.
