Deer Park house fire under control in 16 minutes

Crews responded to the house fire on Bayliss Road, Deer Park just after 11:30am this morning after receiving several reports of smoke and flames issuing from the dwelling.

Oncoming crews also reported smoke in the area and additional appliances were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes and established that all occupants had evacuated from the house.

MFB and CFA firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus worked swiftly to bring the fire under control in 16 minutes, confining the fire to the rear of the dwelling.

The fire is believed to have started in a bedroom and the cause is being investigated.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are also on scene assisting MFB.
