10 Apr 2019
Approximately 20 firefighters were called to the scene of a crane collapse on Schild Street in Yarraville just before 1pm.

The crane collapsed onto two houses and thankfully, everyone on scene at the time has been accounted for.

MFB deployed five appliances to the scene, including a heavy rescue appliance with specialist Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) operators on board.

Firefighters and emergency responders at the scene are determining how to stand the crane back up.

This is likely to be a protracted incident with emergency crews on scene for some time.

WorkSafe has been notified.
