Crews make quick work of shop fire in McKinnon

Quick work by MFB firefighters today has ensured a shop fire in McKinnon was under control in just 11 minutes after the first crew arrived on scene.

Crews were called to a structure fire on McKinnon Road shortly before noon on Friday. They arrived on scene within 6 minutes and quickly got to work to extingish the blaze. 

Wearing breathing apparatus, they gained entry into the burning building and mounted an agressive internal attack. 

Their efforts ensured the fire was contained to the front portion of the dwelling and stopped any spread to adjoining buildings. 

All persons are uninjured and have been accounted for. 

Firefighters will remain on scene for some time. Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are assiting MFB at the incident. 

MFB's specialist Fire Investigators have been deployed to analyse the cause of the blaze, which at this stage has not been determined.
