Crews on scene at a multi-car accident on Sydney Road

Crews are currently on scene at a multi-vehicle accident at Sydney Road in Fawkner, near the Metropolitan Ring Road out ramp.

Following a number of calls made to triple zero firefighters arrived on scene in less than five minutes shortly after 4:30pm this afternoon.

MFB firefighters made use of specialist equipment to release two persons trapped inside separate vehicles, in a very complex rescue.

Victoria Police is on scene and Ambulance Victoria are providing treatment to those injured.

The incident is still not yet under control and there are major traffic delays. The community is advised to avoid the area if possible.
