13 Dec 2017
MFB Firefighters saved adjoining properties at a restaurant fire at the Pinewood Shopping Centre in Mount Waverley early this morning.

Shortly after 3am, crews arrived on scene in a matter of minutes to find a Vietnamese restaurant called ‘The Proud Peacock’ up in flames and fully involved in fire.

Firefighting crews wearing breathing apparatus began an internal attack on the fire, and managed to quickly stop its spread through the roof and into neighbouring restaurants.

The fire damage is extensive, and MFB Fire Investigation specialists will attend this morning to establish the cause.

The fire was brought under control after 50 minutes, and MFB firefighters will remain on scene for some time.
