More than 30 firefighters have been called to a three storey house which has caught fire on Beaconsfield Parade in Middle Park.

MFB crews were called just after 9am after reports of flames coming from the home, threatening the adjoining property.

They arrived on scene within six minutes of the original call to find the top floor of the building well alight.

Firefighters were attacking the blaze from two sides, and their efforts ensured the fire was contained to a wall cavity and brought under control quickly just before 10am.

Thankfully, the occupants managed to evacuate without injury.

There is a lot of smoke in the area, and MFB has issued a community advice message for Albert Park, Middle Park, St Kilda, and St Kilda West.

At the height of the blaze there were nine firefighting appliances on scene, including two aerial appliances (a Teleboom and a Ladder Platform).

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria are supporting MFB at the scene.
