MFB firefighters were called to attend a house fire on Corella Road in Sunshine West this morning, just after 8:30am.

Concerned neighbours who could see flames made several calls to Triple Zero (000), and MFB crews on scene at a separate incident in nearby Dalton Street sighted a large volume of smoke billowing from the location.

Initial MFB crews arrived on scene in seven minutes to find the brick dwelling totally involved in fire.

Approximatley 26 MFB Firefighters wearing Breathing worked hard to attack the fire and protect the adjacent houses, and the fire was declared under control in half an hour.

Thankfully all of the occupants evacuated the building and are safe.

Three CFA and six MFB crews are working together at the scene, with the help of Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown, and will be determined by MFB’s specialist Fire Investigation crews.
