Firefighters were called to the disused factory just before 11pm

MFB crews were called to the property in Banool Avenue at 10:47pm to find the fire involving a mezzanine floor within the large derelict factory.

There was initially some concern for neighbouring houses due to embers being fanned by high winds.

Crews worked quickly to bring the blaze under control in 27 minutes.

Two pumpers remained on scene for some time to totally extinguish the fire.

The fire was deemed suspicious and is being investigated by Victoria Police.
