24 Jan 2010
A yelping dog woke a couple who found their house on fire.

They were able to get out safely and rushed to their neighbours to raise the alarm.

Both MFB and CFA crews were responded with the first trucks arriving at the Innis Court, Deer Park home in just five minutes. The fire was spreading rapidly with radiant heat threatening to ignite the house next door.

Firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control in 20 minutes but despite their efforts, most of the Innis Court house was destroyed.

The cause has yet to be determined.
