Diesel leak at Reserve Bank on Collins Street

Firefighters are working to contain a diesel leak at the Reserve Bank building on Collins Street.

Crews were called to 60 Collins St Melbourne about 12.15pm.

It is estimated that approximately 3000 litres has spilled into a bunded area in the basement car park.

An earlier report of an evacuation taking place is inaccurate.

Collins Street is currently closed to traffic.  Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area.

It is not yet known how long fire crews will be on scene.  The cause of the leak is not available at this time.
