30 Aug 2013
Numerous fire calls were received for smoke and flames visible from a 20 storey high rise apartment building at the Docklands on Friday August 30.

Six MFB appliances were quickly despatched and on scene just before 1.30pm.

MFB firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, evacuated eight residents from the smoke filled 10th floor.

The fire was soon found in an apartment on that level.

The fire was within an air-conditioning unit on the balcony, and had started to penetrate into the apartment.

MFB firefighters made an assertive attack on the fire minimising the damage.

The apartment has sustained considerable smoke and water damage.
