25 May 2017
Firefighters have brought a Mentone unit fire under control in just 13 minutes this morning.

Crews from MFB and CFA arrived within minutes at the Albenca Street address after a distressed caller reported the incident via Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters donned Breathing Apparatus and mounted an internal attack on the fire.

Luckily, two occupants had been able to safely evacuate prior to the arrival of fireys.

At this early stage, it appears that the fire may have been sparked by a clothes dryer.
