Early morning fire damages factory

A Clayton South factory has been extensively damaged overnight by fire causing in excess of $500,000 damage.

Quick action by MFB crews contained the fire to the front and mezzanine area of the factory preventing further damage to the building. The fire started around 2am and was bought under control by the 20 firefighters on scene.

Fire investigators will be on scene this morning to determine the cause of the blaze.
