Eight escape house fire in Cairnlea

Paramedics have treated people affected by a house fire in Cairnlea this afternoon.

MFB and CFA firefighters responded to a call for a bedroom fire in Flowerdale Rd Cairnlea just before 5pm today.
On arrival they found the top floor well alight.
Firefighters donned Breathing Apparatus to enter the house and attack the fire.
All eight occupants evacuated the house safely with 4 sustaining minor injuries.  
The top floor of the two storey house was severely damaged by fire.
Damage is estimated to be approximately $200,000.
A 70 year old occupant required Ambulance Victoria assistance after falling. Two other occupants of the house sustained minor burns.
The fire was deemed Under Control after 27 minutes.
Fire Investigators have been called to the address to investigate the cause
