Elderly lady helped by neighbour in Coburg house fire.

The Coburg house fire happened on Friday evening. It severely damaged around 90 per cent of the weatherboard house and its contents. The remainder of the premise was damaged by heat, smoke and water.

The elderly female occupant was removed from the premises by a neighbour before the arrival of MFB. She suffered slight singing to the hair and minor smoke inhalation.

Smoke alarms were fitted to the premises. The cause is believed to be from unattended cooking.
