Exploding junction box wreaks havoc in Mt Waverley

An exploding junction box has caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to a Mt Waverley house.

The elderly occupants were asleep in their Bennett Ave home when they were awoken about 4.30am by the explosions.
MFB crews arrived to find the fire had spread into the roof cavity.
The fire was under control within half an hour.
The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined.
