Fatal Cheltenham fire

A person has been found deceased following a fire in Cheltenham this evening.

Firefighters were called to a bungalow at the rear of a property in Barclay Drive just after 6pm.

Crews mounted an agressive attack on the blaze and managed to quickly gain the upper hand, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes.

Sadly, a deceased person was located inside the bungalow.

MFB Fire Investigators will investigate the cause of the blaze.

CFA firefighters, Victoria Police officers and Ambulance Victoria paramedics are also on scene.
