Fatal house fire in West Footscray

A woman has died in a house fire in Footscray overnight.

Firefighters and other emergency services were called to the address in Clive Street just after midnight.

Crews arrived on scene within five minutes and quickly conducted an internal search of the property to look for occupants.

A woman was located deceased and a second person has been transported to hospital.

The fire was under control in under 40 minutes.

MFB specialist Fire Investigators will investigate the cause of the incident,
