Fifty fireys battle blaze at old Moonee Ponds Court House

MFB is currently responding to a fire in the old Moonee Ponds Court House.

Crews were called to the blaze on Kellaway Avenue at 8.32am.

The top floor of the structure, measuring approximately 30 by 40 metres, is totally involved in fire.

It is currently occupied by the Essendon Historical Society Museum.  It contains many old records and documents.

Fire crews are using specialist aerial appliance to extinguish the fire.

The general public is advised to avoid the area.
