Several calls were received for the fire at the disused school on Saturday afternoon.

Large plumes of black smoke were seen billowing into the air as MFB were approaching.

They were on scene quickly and were able to contain the fire to two classrooms.

It has been discovered that the building has asbestos and firefighters were required to be decontaminated.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police were called to the scene to investigate.

There was an MFB presence over night damping down any hotspots.

Approximately 25 firefighters attended the blaze.
