Fire at Groove Train Cafe in Richmond

Richmond's Groove Train Cafe has been damaged by fire overnight.

Crews were called to the restaurant on Bridge Road just before 2.30am.

Witnesses reported seeing flames coming from the property.

On arrival firefighters found an external airconditioner on the awning was ablaze.

They worked quickly to extinguish the fire and proceeded to check the property to see if it had spread inside.
The property has been smoke damaged.

MFB fire investigators will attend this morning, however it has been declared a crime scene and Victoria Police are also on scene.
