Fire at Kurdish Association, Pascoe Vale

MFB firefighters were on scene within minutes of receiving a fire call to the Kurdish Association this morning.

DATE:       14/4/11 
TIME:        0147hrs   
ADDRESS: Kurdish Association of Victoria
                 Fawkner Road, Pascoe Vale

The fire involved the rear area of the ground floor of the two storey building, 15x20m.  50 per cent of the ground floor has been severely damaged by fire, including a dining and office area.

This speedy response combined with efficient firefighting tactics ensured that the fire was contained to this area and stopped the fire spreading to the upper level.

The fire has been deemed of a suspicious nature and police are investigation.
