St Albans Fruit Market.

The fire was contained mainly to an electrical high voltage switchboard adjacent to a delicatessen area.

Fire has spread along hardwood boards and into the ceiling area and then into several other stalls, with the ceiling area being heavily smoke logged throughout the entire building.

A 15x15m area and its contents has been severely damaged by fire while a portion of the remainder of the building has been damaged by heat, smoke and water.

The fire was under control in 25 minutes.

MFB Fire Investigation Unit will attend during daylight hours to establish the cause of the fire.
