Fire at a Murrumbeena house, under construction.

A two-storey house that was under construction has been severely damaged by fire. The fire destroyed the central core of the dwelling from the ground floor through to the roof.

Address: Margaretta Ave, Murrumbeena.

The blaze took fire crews 30 minutes to bring under control with damage to the timber framework and plaster sheeting estimated at $50,000.

The cause has been deemed suspicious and the police have been notified.
