02 Apr 2012
The fire was contained to an electrical switchboard and an adjacent substation of the premises.

The main fire was restricted to the low voltage side of the substation but there were concerns that the high voltage side may have been compromised as well.

Firefighters were unable to access the fire to extinguish it until the power company attended.

Burning electrical wiring gave off a lot of thick black smoke which then had to be extracted from the premises.

Electrical switchboard and low voltage side of the substation severely damaged by fire.

The cause is to be investigated.

Under control in 38 minutes.
