A fire in a food processing plant has left an estimated damage bill in excess of $2 million dollars.

Eleven MFB fire trucks and 56 firefighters took approximately 1½ hours to bring a huge fire on Sunday morning (9/12/12) at a food processing plant in Hinkler Rd, Mordialloc under control.

The 30m x 30m factory was fully involved in fire and threatening surrounding properties when fire crews arrived.

The cause is not yet determined and will be investigated when the scene is made safe. Several CFA appliances also attended.
