A Mount Waverley Milk Bar has been damaged by fire this afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Marianne Way shop just after 5.30pm after multiple Triple Zero calls were received.  Additional fire trucks were dispatched on the information received.

On arrival crews found the top floor of the two-storey building totally involved in fire, with the fire threatening properties to the south side of the structure. Firefighters using breathing apparatus attacked the fire internally while protecting the surrounding properties from damage.

The fire was brought under control in 25 minutes.

A cause is yet to be confirmed.
