Fire in Hawthorn East to be investigated

MFB attended at a fire in a commercial premise in Hawthorn East this morning.

Crews were called to the Burwood Road two-storey property at 5am after several calls were received for smoke issuing and on arrival firefighters had to make forced entry. 

In breathing apparatus, firefighters made an aggressive internal attack to confine the fire mainly to an office area on the ground level.

It took approximately 45 minutes to declare the fire under control.

A cause is yet to be determined.
