28 May 2010
Flames were issuing through the roof and fire had engulfed 50% of the brick, 2 bedroom, rear unit when first MFB crews arrived, within minutes of receiving the fire call.

MFB firefighters entered the dwelling and found an elderly lady in the smoke filled hallway attempting to extinguish the fire. The 80 year old was assisted out of the dangerous situation and treated for smoke inhalation and shock. She was later transported to hospital by ambulance.

The fire also threatened two nearby properties but concentrated firefighting tactics alleviated any damage to them.
