Fire investigations underway into Prahran factory blaze

Fifty employees evacuated from a factory fire in Prahran yesterday afternoon.

Fire crews were called to the blaze on Percy Place at 4.50pm.

The single storey building houses a catering business and all employees evacuated safely.  The fire was well alight when the first crews arrived with buildings being threatened on both sides.

Personnel were also evacuated from the adjoining buildings. However the fire was contained to the rear section of the building.

MFB firefighters used breathing apparatus while gaining entry to the building and the fire was declared under control after 46 minutes at 5.36pm.

Fire Investigators are on scene this morning.

Police attended scene to control traffic in the are.
